Quality Assurance Engineer Automation

Your Tasks:

In this role, you will:

" work on testing the functionality and content of customer facing products used on 1&1 Mail and Media Platforms

" develop automated tests for front-end and backend services (mostly in Java / Gerkin / Cucumber)

" be responsible for planning and conduction of all quality assurance measures for projects in the the Mail and Media division

" report and document bugs

" give feedback to product owner

" act as customer advocate

" accompany projects from conception until roll-out and beyond until closure

" review requirement specification and technical documentation and proactively come with questions in order to further refine it

" plan, design, develop, execute and report different types of tests for our web-based products

" design functional, non-functional and regression tests for new system releases

" test the application from a security point of view

" act as a liaison between the developers and the product owner

" work with partners both in the close team and in a distributed team in Germany

" work with development and production databases (MySQL, Cassandra) to validate correct behavior of the application and, occasionally, extract reports

" work Linux command line tools (or other tools suited for purpose) to validate REST call result

" work with Jira (creation and editing of defects, creation of dashboards and reports)

We Appreciate:

" BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

" Experience in software quality assurance as tester

" Experience in testing web platforms and client applications

" Experience in applying black-box test

" Knowledge of tests in the different test levels (system and acceptance testing)

" Basic Experience in usability and accessibility testing

" Experience in using specific QA tools for planning, tracking and reporting test results

" Experience with Selenium and Rest Assured

" Good knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Java

" Good knowledge of REST (what is, how to query one with tools, command line or directly from Java code)

" Good knowledge of Gerkin / Cucumber and Serenity

" Fluent in English (both written and spoken)

" Highly motivated, self-driven and interested in Quality Assurance

" Very good communication skills and a great team player

Strong Plus:

" experience with Agile development models

" experience with Git

" experience with SonarQube reports and / or Jenkins build automation tool

" strong interest in web application security

" Linux command line tools (bash, curl, sed, awk, …) or any scripting language knowledge

" SQL
